The École Nationale de Voile et des Sports Nautiques (ENVSN) is a sailing and nautical school in the small village of Saint-Pierre-Quiberon, in Brittany, France. Its mission is to provide expertise and high-level development in the fields of research, training, and innovation. The school additionally assists professionals, such as the French 470 sailing team, as it strives to adapt to ever-evolving nautical practices.

The 470, or Four-Seventy, is a type of small sailboat, named after its overall length in centimeters. To prepare for the 2012 London Olympic Games, the French 470 team worked with the ENVSP to select the best equipment they could bring to England. For two days, they tested and assessed the whole range of material: the stiffness and deformation of masts, the flexibility and torsion of foils, the position of the center of gravity, the centering of weights in hulls. Additionally, the team made sure that the material complied with the specific rules for the 470 class.
