The Consumer Confidence survey is based on a representative sample of 5,000 U.S. households. Consumers claiming conditions are "good" increased to 27.6 percent from 26.6 percent. Those claiming conditions are "bad" increased 0.5 percent.
Consumers’ view on job market conditions have changed very little. Comparing June and July, more people said jobs are “plentiful,” fewer people thought business conditions would get worse than they are and fewer people expected conditions to improve.
In addition, the Expectations Index was 87.5 in June, down 1.3 from July.
