Hello readers! 2009 brings CMSC into its 25th year. CMSC has grown from a small gathering of users and developers who had a common problem to solve—the standardization of theodolite targets. Today, CMSC has morphed from a conference-based organization into a society whose focus is on the promotion of portable metrology, and the education and support of its members. Our membership includes hardware, software, and metrology accessory developers and producers, service providers, as well as the users of such products and academia. The Coordinate Metrology Society, CMS, is honored to bring CMSC into its silver anniversary year.
This is a milestone year for us! I highly encourage you to submit an abstract covering your latest, coolest project using metrology to accomplish your goals efficiently. CMS is now accepting abstracts, which should be submitted to Scott Sandwith no later than April 10, 2009. By presenting at CMSC, you will be entitled to a free week’s registration. Your white paper will also be considered for publication in the only journal focused on portable metrology—The Journal of the CMSC.
