(Exact Metrology Inc.: Algonquin, Illinois) -- Exact Metrology Inc. has recently acquired Berding 3D Scanning, a reverse-engineering and laser-scanning services firm based in Cincinnati, Ohio. The acquisition further strengthens Exact Metrology as one on the nation’s leading metrology services providers.

The combined company will operate under the name Exact Metrology Inc., and will provide inspection, reverse-engineering, noncontact laser scanning, and 2-D/3-D digitizing services, as well as sales, service, and implementation of metrology equipment from companies including Romer, Leica, Metronor, Breuckmann, Perceptron, and InnovMetric. The acquisition gives Exact Metrology additional highly trained field service engineers, facilitating faster customer service for both on-site and off-site inspections.

The acquisition of Berding enhances Exact Metrology’s long-range, large format scanning and digital file preparation capabilities for architecture, civil engineering, and surveying applications. Exact Metrology offers customers access to both short-range scanning for product development and long-range scanning for large items such as facility layouts.
