Hitachi Medical Corp. (HMC) recently received the 2006 Innovation Award in recognition of its development of new products and processes.
Almost 60 North American imaging and 140 Japanese hospitals helped define the critical product capabilities that Hitachi Medical and International TecheGroup (ITI) included in an innovative multimodality console product line, for which Hitachi Medical received the award. The products will allow Hitachi to deploy capabilities across its entire imaging product line. The award was presented by Hitachi Ltd., Hitachi Medical’s parent company.“Over a 36-month period, ITI’s team led HMC in the transition from a C, Unix, single-developer-based environment to a C++-, C#- and .Net-based development environment that supports a global concurrent development with outsourcing suppliers,” says Rendell Hughes, ITI executive consultant. “HMC achieved a remarkable reduction down to almost 60 percent in time-to-market with significantly high levels of quality as a result.”
