The International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering is marking its 25th anniversary with a full schedule of activities commemorating its contributions to innovation in pharmaceutical manufacturing. The ISPE was founded in 1980 with the primary purpose of providing education, networking opportunities and information exchanges for pharmaceutical manufacturing professionals. The FDA recently invited the ISPE to play a leading role in driving innovation by calling for it to be a “Catalyst of Change” because of its adoption of technology that will lead to better efficiency, safer products and long-run production cost savings. To that end, jointly sponsored FDA/ISPE Process Analytical Technology forums were recently held in the United States, Belgium, Japan and India.
“ISPE’s vision for the future is to lead the integration of industry professionals, academia and regulatory agencies worldwide to achieve real innovation in pharmaceutical product delivery,” says Paul D’Eramo, ISPE chairman. “The society is committed to developing innovative professionals to achieve technical and operational excellence in the pharmaceutical industry.”
