Kevin Sharer recently became the chairman of the board of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America.

Sharer is chairman and CEO of Amgen Inc. He replaces Peter R. Dolan as PhRMA chairman, who recently resigned from the position. Sharer will be responsible for leading and setting the agenda for the organization, which is a coalition of American pharmaceutical research and biotechnology companies.

“PhRMA is uniquely positioned to drive American innovation, confront the toughest health care problems, deliver great value to patients and make medicines available to patients who need them,” says Sharer. “We are committed to continue partnering with patients, physicians and other health care stakeholders to achieve these goals.”
