NQF participated in this year’s Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) 10 Interoperability Showcase in Atlanta on March 1–3. The Interoperability Showcase provides attendees with hands-on experience, allowing them to experience the benefits of well-coordinated health information technology (HIT) as they walk through each step of the care delivery process as a patient. Last year’s showcase drew more than 4,000 attendees.
NQF contributed to the HIMSS10 Interoperability Showcase, and worked with HIT vendors and providers to simulate the full workflow experience of two electronic measures—body mass index and ambulatory heart failure management—from data collection through reporting. This process is rooted in the quality data set, which was developed and released by NQF last fall.
