(SMARTTECH3D: Lomianki, Poland) -- SMARTTECH3D has introduced its new CobotScan, which integrates an ultrasmall 3D scanning head with a cobot.

The ability to create measurement plans by manually indicating and saving scanning positions allows users to enjoy CobotScan’s capabilities without having to know the arm programming process. Thanks to this, process automation can be easier and more widely available.

The 3D scanner can operate integrated with collaborative robots (cobots) or as a stand-alone solution. It’s an automated means of obtaining precise documentation of all the smallest details. Dedicated for quality-control applications in industrial settings, it compares scan data to its reference CAD model.

Integration with cobots allows full automation of the measuring process and eliminates the need for positioning markers, which significantly increases efficiency. Combining the solution with a SMARTTECH3D rotary stage further optimizes 3D scanning processes and allows automated alignment of data collected from different directions.
