(Coordinate Metrology Society: Weatherford, TX) -- The Coordinate Metrology Society (CMS) has announced the return of its 3D metrology certification schemes and recommended preparatory class for beginners and experienced users of coordinate metrology equipment. Both exams will test metrology knowledge across a range of duty areas, including: blueprints; geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T); equipment specifics prior, during, and after use; and data output.

Beginners to coordinate metrology
For new or inexperienced users in coordinate metrology, the CMS offers its “metrologist in training” theory test, which includes a series of questions to gauge their current level of understanding of the subject matter. It’s not designed as pass/fail, but rather as guidance on current knowledge and understanding.
