(Photron: San Diego) -- Photron Inc., a leading manufacturer of high-speed cameras and image analysis software, has launched the new Fastcam SA7 high-speed camera system utilizing a unique 1,280 × 1,024 pixel advanced CMOS (complementary metal oxide semiconductor) imaging sensor. The system provides frame rates of up to 3,500 frames per second (fps) at full-image resolution, outstanding image quality with 12-bit ADC, and high-light sensitivity (5,000 ISO monochrome, 2,500 ISO color measured to the standard ISO 12232), ISO speed ratings, standard output sensitivity, and recommended exposure index.

The Fastcam SA7 has been designed to satisfy the requirements of a wide variety of high-speed imaging applications, including automotive safety testing. The system has already been selected by a leading international automotive manufacturer to provide high-speed image capture and motion analysis at an innovative automotive safety laboratory facility recently commissioned in Japan.
