Intertek ETL Entela plans to build a new automotive component and systems test lab in Shanghai, the first commercial lab of its kind in China. The 40,000 sq. ft facility will be called Intertek Automotive Services. It will provide automotive performance testing including vibration; thermal aging; thermal cycling; programmable chamber exposure; temperature and humidity; and buzz, squeak and rattle testing. Future expansion plans call for the addition of EMC testing, multi-axis vibration/accelerated stress testing, and other automotive testing and engineering services.
“With Intertek Automotive Services, we’re committed to bringing ETL Entela’s automotive testing and engineering expertise to China as a full-time supplier,” says Kim Phillipi, Intertek Automotive Services’ regional president. “We’re proud to be the first commercial automotive component and systems test lab in this region and we’re making a significant investment in new equipment and facilities in order to provide comprehensive and state-of-the-art testing capabilities.”
