The American Council of Independent Laboratories presented its Seal of Excellence Awards at its annual meeting in Palm Springs , California, last month. Participants in the award program are committed to ensuring the integrity of laboratory data, meeting customers’ quality needs and setting the standards of performance for the testing laboratory industry. The program ranks participating laboratories’ 12 months of proficiency-testing study rounds, examines customer-satisfaction ratings and feedback, and requires laboratory management to commit to a data-integrity program.
The Seal of Excellence participants demonstrated an average proficiency-testing score of 96.8 percent, average timeliness of 3.3 out of 4.0, and an overall customer satisfaction score of 3.6 out of 4.0. In the overall customer satisfaction division, the Seal of Excellence Award winners are:
