The New Jersey Technical Council recently awarded Gregory H. Olsen, chairman of Sensors Unlimited Inc., its John H. Martinson Technology Support Award. Olsen, the world’s third private space explorer and the first space tourist since the Columbia shuttle exploded mid-flight, recently returned from the Soyuz TMA-7 orbital space flight mission after spending eight days on the International Space Station. He’s the co-founder of Sensors Unlimited, a provider of shortwave infrared imaging and imaging systems. The company merged with Goodrich Corp. in September 2005.
“The New Jersey Technology Council has been an inspiration and enhancement to many area technology businesses, offering networking, business support, advocacy and educational programs,” says Olsen. “I’m most honored to be selected for the John H. Martinson Technology Support Award and I look forward to the NJTC Gala Awards to join my esteemed colleagues and fellow honorees.”
