(Optical Gaging Products: Rochester, NY) -- Two new models of multisensor dimensional measurement instruments, SmartScope ZIP Lite 250 and 300, join Optical Gaging Products’ (OGP) line of SmartScope ZIP systems. These new systems offer automated, video-based inspection and measurement combined with advanced ZIP motorized zoom optics. These compact systems provide XYZ measurement ranges of 250 × 250 × 150 mm (with 300 mm extended X axis optional) for the ZIP Lite 250, and 300 × 300 × 150 mm for the ZIP Lite 300. They feature joystick-controlled mechanical-bearing motorized XYZ stages, with 0.5 µm linear scales mounted to a metrologically stable granite base and column. SmartScope ZIP Lite systems use OGP’s MeasureMind 3D MultiSensor metrology software, designed to take full advantage of a 3-D measurement environment. MeasureMind 3D combines an easy-to-use interface with high-powered algorithms for dependable and accurate measurement performance. Measure-X metrology software, now available with CAD import, is optional.

SmartScope ZIP Lite’s 7 to 1 motorized zoom lens keeps images in focus and on axis throughout its zoom range. The patented AccuCentric zoom lens automatically calibrates itself with each magnification change throughout the life of the measurement system. A wide array of optional lens attachments and adapter tubes expand the magnification range, providing further value and versatility. LED coaxial and profile illumination, and a high-resolution color CCD camera, yield high-contrast and true-color images. The white-LED SmartRing surface light supplies programmable light intensity, angle, and direction. User’s can add touch probe and/or DRS laser for tactile and surface contouring.
SmartScope ZIP Lite will be exhibited at OGP’s booth No. E-5525 at the IMTS 2010 Industry and Technology Conference, to be held Sept. 13–18 in Chicago.
