Surveylab, a leading provider of mobile geographic information systems (GIS), recently launched a new 3-D modeling capability for its ikeGPS satellite system. ikeGPS satellite system enables the user to geo-tag an image of any distant object, even at a distance of 1,000 meters. The ikeGPS system also helps the user to create 3-D models of multiple objects with mobile GIS device in three simple steps, point, shoot, and download.

GIS applications such as Google Earth and ESRI can now produce highly accurate 3-D models using TrueSize to capture the ikeGPS and tools such as Google SketchUp.
The unique features of the ikeGPS system include GIS mapping of objects from a standoff position, verification photography, 3-D data capture, and complex data measurement capability. These features field crews across diverse industries to locate, identify, and calculate the dimensions, area, and volume of nearly any object, and document it with highly accurate real-world measurements.
