I
am a completion nut; I can get stuff done in the most chaotic of situations—a lot of stuff done. But it hasn’t always been that way. There was busyness, which does not mean productivity. Nor does it necessarily mean you are doing what it is you need to do to achieve your goals. I learned this lesson after I had my second child. Having two children under the age of two pushed me over the edge. And I thank God for that.

I had to learn how to prioritize what was most important to me in the moment. What was most important to me was that I raised my children to become happy, self-confident, self-actualized adults. Me being über-busy trying to conquer the world when my children were very young wasn’t going to help me achieve what I saw as my singularly most important goal, which was taking care of them.
