(A2LA: Frederick, MD) -- The American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) is offering a course titled, “ISO 15189 and Accreditation” on Sept. 24–25, 2012, at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel. This course will use lecture, discussion, and interactive exercises to assist you in understanding the benefits of the standard, ISO 15189—“Medical laboratories—Particular requirements for quality and competence,” from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

Through the implementation of ISO 15189, you will be able to use a systems view of quality management to better design and implement your laboratory functions, design a total laboratory process that addresses the principles of quality medical laboratory services, and implement pre-examination, examination, and post-examination processes essential to patient care, specific to your laboratory. Course content includes a comprehensive look at the clauses of the standard.
