World Energy, Griffin Industries and Cargill Inc. have embraced BQ-9000 and recently earned the distinction of becoming accredited producers of biodiesel fuel.
BQ-9000 includes procedures for fuel production, storage, handling and management designed to ensure fuel quality. The accreditation has two categories—accredited producer and certified marketer. The National Biodiesel Board and the Canadian Renewable Fuels Association have adopted the program.Griffin recycles agricultural byproducts in Cold Spring, Kentucky. World Energy is based in Chelsea, Massachusetts, and its biodiesel plant is in Lakeland, Florida. Cargill is a multinational provider of agricultural, food and risk management products and services.
Twelve companies have met BQ-9000 standards and an additional six have begun the process.
