Wilshire Conferences Inc., creators of educational conferences for information technology professionals, honored BMO Financial Group with the fifth annual Wilshire Award for Metadata Best Practices. BMO stood out because of its implementation, architecture and executive support.
Eight judges from corporate data management decided that BMO’s implementation of an outstanding, multifaceted metadata management program warranted the Wilshire Award.“We are delighted to have been selected this year,” says Ron Klein, BMO metadata management lead. “We have been fortunate in growing a team that not only has superb business and technical skills but also the support of savvy business experts and a great executive leadership team.”
“What ultimately swayed the judges to select BMO was [its] long-term commitment to a metadata program and the buy-in [it has] managed to achieve throughout the organization,” says Robert Seiner, president of award co-sponsor TDAN.com and chairman of the judging panel. “Plus, BMO was able to provide measurable evidence of [its] results.”
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota and the U.S. Department of Interior were runners-up.
