To demonstrate how manufacturers can comply with the Restrictions on Hazardous Substances directive (RoHS), the California Manufacturing Technology Consulting organization will host two day-long seminars this month.
The first will be held Sept. 19 at the Holiday Inn Mission Valley in San Diego. The second will be held Sept. 20 at the Burbank Airport Hilton in Burbank. Tickets are $89 and include lunch.
RoHS went into effect on July 1 and prohibits chemicals and elements such as mercury and lead in all products and components imported into European Union countries. It’s the first in a wave of similar restrictions; China, Japan, Korea, Argentina, Canada and the state of California also have rules that will soon take effect on the presence of harmful chemicals and elements in products shipped into their ports.
Same-day registration won’t be accepted. For more information, visit www.cmtc.com/PDFs/Newsroom/08-17-06.pdf.
