Navin S. Dedhia of San Jose, California, received the Harrington-Ishikawa Quality Professional Medal for 2007 during the international conference of the Asia Pacific Quality Organization in October in Shanghai.
Dedhia has served many distinguished professional and civic organizations and was nominated for his dedication, leadership, and distinguished service to the Pacific region and the world in various capacities. He has also written more than 100 technical articles for magazines and newsletters and given more than 100 presentations and papers at various conferences.
In his acceptance speech, Dedhia referred to an African proverb: “‘If you want to go quickly, go alone, if you want to go far, go together.’ Now, we have to go far quickly. That’s where harmony comes in. Together on a journey, we can conquer the world, and the world can become a better place to live.”
Dedhia also received the 1993 E. Jack Lancaster Medal from the American Society for Quality for his international leadership.
Dedhia, a Fellow and former board member of ASQ, is an academician member of the International Academy for Quality (IAQ) and is currently president of KOJAIN, Kachchhi Oswal Association in North America.
