FARO Technologies Inc. recently launched its Software Diversity Program and named Delcam Inc. as the program’s first partner. The SDP is an open-architecture software platform. More than 60 software platforms have joined the first general level, Open Architecture Partnership, which began with the inception of FARO’s industrial product line 13 years ago. The new SDP expands on the program by allowing approved third-party software partners to enter into a more integrated arrangement with FARO if they meet certain criteria, such as a worldwide or strong regional user base, diverse applications and global support channels.

FARO chose Delcam for the partnership because of its broad customer base and product-complementary cross-hardware platform interoperability. Delcam’s PowerINSPECT software is a popular 3-D inspection tool that allows multiple types of measurement devices to function on one software platform.
