(American National Standards Institute: New York) -- James Hill, a recognized leader in the building and fire industries, has been selected by the U.S. Celebration of World Standards Day Planning Committee as the 2007 recipient of the prestigious Ronald H. Brown Standards Leadership Award. He will be honored by members of the U.S. standardization community on Thursday evening, October 18, 2007, at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C.
Named after the late U.S. Secretary of Commerce, the Ronald H. Brown Standards Leadership Award is presented annually during the U.S. Celebration of World Standards Day. Its recipient is a champion for standardization activities and an advocate for programs that safeguard the health and safety of the world’s citizens, protect the environment and foster global commerce.
