Widespread Linux-based application development in business, mission and life critical areas prompted McCabe Software to develop McCabe IQ, hosted directly on RedHat Linux.

“The same software quality management benefits that our customers have come to expect are now available directly on RedHat Linux,” says Dale Brenneman, vice president of software quality solutions for McCabe.

McCabe IQ was always platform-independent and could analyze the test coverage and quality of applications no matter where they were developed. Before this new release, though, the quality and test analysis had to run on a UNIX or Windows box, adding extra time and effort to the development cycle for Linux users. The increasing numbers of businesses running a Linux-exclusive shop had to do without the software altogether.

“Responding to market demand, we have removed the barriers,” Brenneman says.
