Mikel J. Harry, co-creator of Six Sigma, recently launched a new computer-based training program for the methodology. Historically, Six Sigma training can take up to 160 hours and can cost up to $12,000 per trainee. These factors have put high-quality Six Sigma training out of reach for many small and midsize companies, according to Harry. His solution is MindPro, which took him two years of intensive work to develop. The solution includes 11 programs, covering Green Belts, Black Belts and lean Sigma, and 20 courses such as "Quality Tools" and "Six Sigma Essentials." Users can learn at their own pace.
MindPro consists of three disks, a 3,000-page statistical handbook, access to online help forums and a digital training project. Once users complete MindPro’s courses, they can become Six Sigma-certified by Harry’s Six Sigma Management Institute.
