Consumer Reports magazine last week listed the 47 most reliable vehicles on our planet. Twenty-one of them were made by Toyota Motor Corp. Honda Motor Co. makes 11 of the top 47. Other reliable cars are made by Lexus, Pontiac and Subaru, the only automaker all of whose cars are recommended by Consumer Reports.
Eight vehicles named to Consumer Reports’ least-reliable list are made by Mercedes-Benz, and 12 by General Motors Inc., the industry leader in this category.
Among the least reliable vehicles are also the Chevrolet Cobalt, the Volkswagen Passat and the Jaguar X-type. Half the least reliable small cars are Chevrolets.
