The Greater Boston Manufacturing Partnership (GBMP) recently announced four recipients of the Northeast Shingo Prize for Excellence in Manufacturing.The prize is awarded annually and is available to businesses in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Rhode Island. Applicants are evaluated based on their overall lean business systems models, including customer satisfaction and profitability, quality, cost, delivery, core operations, and leadership and empowerment enablers.

The winners are: Raytheon Integrated Air Defense Center of Andover, Massachusetts (Gold Award); Boston Centerless of Woburn, Massachusetts; Accurounds of Avon, Massachusetts; and Raytheon Maritime Mission Center of Portsmouth, Rhode Island (Silver Awards); and Z Corp. of Burlington, Vermont (Bronze Award).

The GBMP administers the Northeast Shingo Prize for Excellence in Manufacturing, and is a part of the University of Massachusetts at Boston’s College of Management.
