“Quality assurance and continuous improvement is a key component of all modern manufacturing, service, and government organizations,” says Ken Rennels, associate professor of mechanical engineering technology. “Studies show that individuals with training in quality contribute to an organization’s bottom line by reducing mistakes and increasing productivity.”
These courses are offered as part of the school’s Certificate in Quality Assurance, first introduced in 2007. The program includes five courses designed to meet the needs of working professionals and prepare students to meet a growing demand for skilled employees in the quality assurance field.
The Purdue certificate program is offered in the evening and allows individuals to complete all coursework in two calendar years. The program is open to anyone who meets the admission requirements of the School of Engineering and Technology.
Quality assurance-related courses can also be taken by individuals not interested in the certificate through IUPUI’s nondegree program option, which is designed for individuals seeking to improve specific skill sets without pursuing a formal certificate or degree.
