Rockwell Automation Inc. recently acquired Datasweep Inc., a provider of manufacturing production-management software. Based in San Jose, California, Datasweep has customers in the pharmaceutical, high-tech, automotive and medical-device industries. Datasweep’s management team and employees will join the Rockwell Software organization. In addition, Rockwell Automation will integrate and rebrand Datasweep’s Advantage software products into Rockwell’s newly released FactoryTalk integrated production management and performance suite. The terms of the transaction weren’t disclosed.
“This strategic acquisition emphasizes our commitment to deliver a world-class, plantwide information software suite that drives manufacturing excellence,” says Steve Eisenbrown, Rockwell’s automation-control and information group senior vice president. “Incorporating Datasweep technology with the FactoryTalk production discipline enables us to help manufacturers convert day-to-day operations data into business knowledge for timely decision making.”
