Rockwell Automation recently introduced a complimentary configuration tool to its RSLogix programming environment. The new feature eliminates the manual configuration typically associated with adding DeviceNet products to a Logix-based control system. The tool automatically defines data tags, helping to reduce the amount of programming time required.

“Previously, users needed to reference devices’ manuals to understand the meaning of DeviceNet data array tables,” says Fabio Malaspina, Rockwell Automation product marketing manager. “Now, with the RSLogix 5000 DeviceNet Tag Generator, plant engineers are prompted through a series of steps to more quickly select the right scanner and configure each device.”
