Rockwell Automation recently recognized its top engineers at the Patent and Innovation Awards in Milwaukee and in Cleveland.
Sujeet Chand, senior vice president and chief technology officer, and Keith Nosbusch, chairman and CEO, bestowed the company’s most prestigious laurels on Jon Simons and Michael Melfi, and they recognized the recipients of innovation awards and patents issued in the past year.Michael Melfi is the Engineer of the Year. This award recognizes exceptional engineers whose aspirations, vision and teamwork have led to innovation in their fields. Melfi was chosen for his contributions to the design, development and application of Reliance Electric variable speed motors and his expertise in applying electric motors to variable speed applications.
The Odo J. Struger Automation Award honors individuals for significant commercial, technical and professional leadership that results in business and financial success for Rockwell Automation. Jon Simons won the award for his outstanding blend of professionalism, leadership and process, technical, and commercial skills. Simons has had a distinguished 23-year career at Rockwell in the field of automation and drives.
