George Eckes, who is widely credited with helping to formulate and clarify Six Sigma’s use in varied industries, recently joined the faculty of Villanova University’s online Six Sigma program.

Eckes, founder and president of Eckes & Associates Inc., has more than 20 years of experience in quality-management consulting, and he has written five books on quality management and Six Sigma. Eckes’ firm was chosen as a primary consulting organization for General Electric’s Six Sigma initiative in 1996, and in 2003 Eckes was named an honorary chairman of President Bush’s Business Advisory Council.

Villanova University offers three online Six Sigma courses and is the first university to offer Six Sigma certification online. Located in Pennsylvania, Villanova has been named no. one in its region by U.S. News & World Report’s Best Universities list.
