California Manufacturing Technology Consulting, a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing the competitiveness of the state’s manufacturing base, will offer a Green Belt certification course next month in Southern California. The course will take place over 12 weeks in weekly four-hour sessions held in the evenings. CMTC Black Belts will review the candidates’ projects and reports. Candidates will need a laptop computer with Microsoft Excel installed. The course, which costs $2,600, starts on March 7 and will be held at the Garden Grove Embassy Suites in Orange County.
“This is an extremely low cost way for a company to enter the Six Sigma process,” says Jim Watson, CMTC vice president of consulting services. “It is not unusual that by completion of this program the pilot project will have already [shown] a return on investment significantly exceeding the cost of the program.”
