Participants at “One Day to Lean” will learn to identify and eliminate the seven deadly wastes as demonstrated by Taiichi Ohno, who developed the Toyota Production System.
The event will be hosted by Tefen USA, an operations management consulting firm. Tefen estimates that 95 percent of all production activities are wasteful and could be eliminated or minimized using lean concepts."Lean is a mindset, philosophy and set of tools all geared to driving improvement by continuously eliminating waste within organizations,” says Ken Mapes, Tefen’s head of training. “Developed and perfected in the automotive industry, it has been successfully applied to a number of other industries, including manufacturing, financial services, life sciences and health care.”
“One Day to Lean” will demonstrate key lean concepts such as 5S, flow, kaizen and kanban. The event will be at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Foster City, California. For more information, visit http://guest.cvent.com/EVENTS/Info/Summary.aspx?e=c36894fa-c0ce-4a72-af92-dbf0b24fb33f.
