Ten very different organizations recently received The Shingo Prize for Excellence in Manufacturing.
The prize, which has been dubbed the Nobel Prize of manufacturing, recognizes organizations’ quality and efficiency achievements using lean principles. It’s the premier manufacturing award in North America, and administrators report a 120-percent increase in the number of 2006 applicants.
“The 2006 recipients have demonstrated they aim to control their destiny though lean manufacturing and business principles,” says Ross Robson, Shingo Prize executive director.
