(Sutherland Global Services: Chennai, India) -- The Indian Statistical Institute, in association with the Quality Council of India and the National Institution for Quality & Reliability, recently named Sutherland Global Services the 2007 All India Six Sigma Contest winner for information technology (IT) and IT-enabled services companies. The objective of the competition was to promote quality awareness, share best practices across different industries and reward the best performers. Six Sigma is a measure of quality that strives for near perfection and is a disciplined, data-driven approach and methodology for eliminating defects in any process. Sutherland has consistently carried out continuous improvement across the globe using the Six Sigma framework in association with business process outsourcing contracts for major U.S. and European companies.
