(ANSI: New York) -- The increasing number of liquid biofuels standards initiatives and the growing market demand for alternative energy sources are fueling the need for the harmonization of standards and test methods to support the commoditization of liquid biofuels throughout the supply chain.
To answer this need, the American National Standards Institute and the Brazilian association of technical standards regulator, ABNT, have issued a joint proposal for a new International Organization for Standardization field of activity in the area of liquid biofuels.Prior to formal submittal to ISO, the proposal is undergoing national consultations within ANSI and ABNT. All interested stakeholders are invited to submit comments. Within the United States, the U.S. Technical Advisory Group to ISO TC 28 will be responsible for compiling comments and determining if any changes are necessary.
