Serving as a volunteer for the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) during the last four years, Barbara Boroughf has discovered just how much she enjoys the chance to interact with others within the automotive sector. Even so, finding the time has not always been easy.

As global vice president for health, safety, and environmental management for Lear Corp., Boroughf serves three main functions: managing a group of regional managers that work to ensure a safe and healthy work environment; making sure Lear is compliant with environmental regulations as well as ensuring Lear’s environmental management system is effective; and overseeing the Lear team responsible for the company’s compliance to IMDS, the International Material Data System, and to REACH, the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and restriction of Chemicals regulation adopted by the European Union.
