(LRQA: Coventry, England) -- Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance has been awarded Designated Operational Entity status by the Clean Development Mechanism executive board related to validation for an additional seven scopes. The Kyoto Protocol requires that to be eligible for emissions credits, a CDM project must be validated and verified by an accredited DOE.
The additional scopes are:
LRQA was awarded DOE status by the CDM executive board related to validation for Scope 13, waste handling and disposal, in December 2006.
“The DOE status relating to seven further scopes is another major step for LRQA,” says Dr. Anne-Marie Warris, LRQA’s global product manager for climate change. “The eight CDM scopes that we now have are proof of the commitment that is fundamental to our continued growth in the environmental sector.”
