(QuEST Forum: Dallas) -- QuEST Forum recently published the TL 9000 Quality Management System Requirements Handbook 5.0, the latest edition of the global quality standard used by the telecommunications industry. The new release of the handbook has an effective date of Nov. 15, to ensure adequate time for organizations to complete Delta training and seamlessly upgrade to the new release.
Release 5.0 of the handbook includes clarifications, additional adders, and notes. Three specific areas emphasized in the revision are risk management, supplier management, and design for manufacturability. The TL 9000 Quality Management System Requirements Handbook 5.0 also includes the new ISO 9001:2008 language.
Developed in 1998, the purpose of TL 9000 is to define the telecommunications quality system requirements for design, development, production, and service. In addition, it specifies measurements for companies to help evaluate the effectiveness of quality implementation and improvement programs. The result is a unique and robust quality management system that parallels rapid technology changes and customer expectations while driving continual improvement and business excellence.
