In addition to the new Ford specification, the Plymouth EMC lab is expanding its capabilities and capacity by adding a 3 m, semi-anechoic chamber. This expansion will allow the lab to service the large electric vehicle (EV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) on the market. Along with the new chamber, new infrastructure and test equipment have been added specifically to support the testing of very large automotive battery systems.
