Sam Y. Zamrik, a technical consultant and professor emeritus of engineering mechanics at the Pennsylvania State University, was recently named president-elect of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. ASME develops codes and standards for the engineering and technology industries. Zamrik has been a member of the organization for 34 years, serving in several of its leadership positions. Zamrik’s area of expertise is pressure vessels technology, and he has published more than 180 technical papers and reports on mechanical engineering and related standards.
