Such conditions occur when starting, stopping, or reversing high-inertia loads during torsional oscillations, and in diesel and single-cylinder engine/compressor drivelines. Under these conditions, a conventional torquemeter must be oversized to avoid damage, a process that greatly reduces accuracy.
