(ASQ: Milwaukee) -- The American Society for Quality (ASQ) presented the first Spencer Hutchens Jr. Medal for Social Responsibility to Joanne Adrienne Vincenten during its annual World Conference on Quality and Improvement in St. Louis on May 23. The medal recognizes the achievements of someone who demonstrates outstanding leadership as an individual, business leader, and cause advocate for social responsibility—primarily focusing on the marketplace, environment, workplace, and community.

Vincenten works for the European Child Safety Alliance in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and is being awarded the Hutchens Medal for her understanding of social responsibility; her success in community development, human rights, and consumer issues; and her passion for the work that results in social and environmental improvement.
