(Devista: Amstelveen, The Netherlands) -- Devista released Teamwork Planner 2.0, its Gantt chart planning tool for Windows XP and Vista 7. Teamwork Planner targets project managers of teams of two to 12 people and replaces the spreadsheets that many project managers use to do their planning.

Many Gantt chart tools just help you draw a chart. Others are stuffed with little-used features to appear competitive with Microsoft Project. However, that makes them complex for smaller teams to use. Teamwork Planner keeps it simple but still goes beyond just drawing a chart.

Teamwork Planner is different from its competitors. Team members’ available hours are continuously distributed throughout the assigned tasks in the order in which they are defined. Changing their order changes their priority. In this way you can quickly go through different scenarios to find one that fits everyone’s expectations. This concept really fits the basic idea of Gantt charts.

Teamwork Planner 2.0 now adds professional features like task dependencies, task grouping, and a function to zoom/unzoom the screen. The Teamwork Planner Pro 2.0 also supports direct printing to PDF and exporting data to Excel.
