(ASME: New York) -- The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) has announced the 5th Frontiers in Biomedical Devices Conference and Exhibition, examining the technology that is driving innovation in the biomedical industry. The conference is set for Sept. 20–21, at the Island Hotel in Newport Beach, California.

Including technical presentations grouped in five main tracks, the two-day information exchange will cover new advances in bone regeneration, tissue implantation, and health monitoring and diagnostics. Exhibitors include Instron, Simulia, Tribal Engineering, and other firms that are making strong contributions to human health and rehabilitation. In addition, the conference will feature poster sessions as well as an exhibition of leading-edge products and services used in the biomedical industry.
The conference will include two plenary speakers: Edmund Y.S. Chao, Ph.D., emeritus professor at the Mayo Clinic; and Shu Chien, Ph.D., professor and director of the Bioengineering Institute of California at the University of California.
