(ASQ: Milwaukee) -- On June 10, 2011, the American Society for Quality (ASQ) Awards Board approved the name change of the Inspection Division Scholarship to the H. James Harrington Scholarship.

The Inspection Division Leadership Team renamed the scholarship to honor Harrington for his many years of service to ASQ and the Inspection Division.

Harrington was the Inspection Division Chair in 1973–1974 and later served as ASQ’s president in 1985–1986. Besides being a noted author, speaker, and leader in the quality community, Harrington has received numerous international awards and accolades and was a recipient of the prestigious ASQ Distinguished Service Medal.
