(EMS Consulting Group: Carlsbad, CA) -- EMS Consulting Group Inc., provider of continuous improvement training and consulting services, has just announced a Lean Manufacturing Certification program to take place in San Diego July 17–19, 2012. This program includes three consecutive days of hands-on training, including team activities, simulation, and videos. The program also includes supplemental online training that covers additional topics that are part of the body of knowledge required for the certification.

Participants will learn how to apply each of the principles and tools of lean, including A-3 problem solving, plan-do-check-act (PDCA), value-stream mapping, continuous flow manufacturing cells, mistake proofing, kanban, pull systems, 5S, total productive maintenance, quick changeover, and kaizen event facilitation. Lean certification also requires participants to complete lean manufacturing projects at their own companies to reinforce the classroom learning.
