For those who are unfamiliar with this, PAUT is an advanced form of ultrasonic testing that is used for detection, sizing, and imaging of flaws in engineered materials. It uses multi-element transducers with the capabilities to send an array of sound, in a range of angles, through the material being tested.
Phased array ultrasonic testing can be performed on nearly any homogenous material but is most commonly used on steel, steel alloys, and composite materials. Phased array ultrasonic testing can be performed in a laboratory but is most commonly carried out in field applications. The unit and its accessories are extremely portable and can be used nearly anywhere.
